Directions to Milden Hall and Tudor barn
• Front drive is on a sharp bend (and quite easy to miss, especially in the dark) on the B1115 between Milden cross-roads and Little Waldingfield village. • Back drive is opposite telephone box in village of Milden (go down ½ mile drive bearing right at every track-fork opportunity, through a farmyard). • If asking for directions/telling taxis emphasize this is The Hall in the village of Milden and not Mildenhall town, which is north of Bury St Edmunds! • Accessible from Harwich and Stanstead airport. Easy driving distance to Cambridge (1hr), Bury St Edmunds (30 mins), Norwich (75 mins), Suffolk coast (75 mins).
Parking for b&b:Do park in front of the house to onload luggage or in the little walled courtyard immediately next to the house. Parking for self-catering:Do park immediately next to the cartlodge to unpack your luggage. Later please move the cars to allow good vehicle and emergency access and park in front of chestnut palings next to cartlodge or in the car park. Parking for larger events:Please park in the car park. Public transport and taxis• Sudbury is the nearest (very small) train station – a 15 minute taxi ride to Milden. For the ‘Lovejoy line' to Sudbury you must change from the Colchester-Liverpool Street line at Marks Tey. Parking at the station is free and apparently problem-free. • Colchester is 30+ minutes away and trains run regularly to and from Liverpool Street . • A Community Bus is available for hire with plenty of notice and is very reasonable. Time-tabled buses only run on certain days of the week and are unreliable. • Taxis need booking up well in advance and clarification that this is The Hall at Milden and not the town of Mildenhall
