What can you do beyond Milden?
Sight-seeing:
Most large groups split up a little during the day and go off to do their own thing:
|
|
- See the coast (1 hr to Dunwich, Aldeburgh, Southwold, and Frinton for sand)
- Antique & junk shop hunting locally – Lavenham, Long Melford, Clare
- Visit National Trust properties: Ickworth House, Flatford Mill, Melford Hall, Sutton Hoo
Try our car-free planned itineraries to visit nearby medieval villages - Lavenham, Kersey, Long Melford and Constable Country, or boat down the Stour
Painting in local pretty medieval villages and churches – Kersey, Monks Eleigh, Cavendish
One day courses:
Assington Mill (20 minutes away) run a variety of whacky courses all year – ranging from bee-keeping to basket making and water dowsing. See what they’ve got on the weekend you come.
Riding:
Ask us for a list of local riding schools. Investigate and make your own decisions!
Golf:
Ask us for a list of local golf courses – several nearby.
Off-road cycling in Thetford Forest:
45 minutes away, on very light sandy soils and hard forest tracks so accessible even in wet weather; easy and harder routes.
GoApe! Thetford Forest:
Swing from tree to tree high above the forest floor on a two hour adrenalin and laughter-filled course.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES – What will you do at Milden?

We loved coming back to your beautiful home. It is a very peaceful place for us and such a contrast to busy “work life”. I value the peace and quiet and fantastic space … and still having great facilities nearby (if needed).
